Mark Cuban Makes Latest Comments on Luka Doncic Trade Debacle

Last season, we saw one of the most shocking trades in NBA history when Luka Doncic was dealt to the Los Angeles Lakers out of nowhere. While the Mavericks ended up with the No. 1 overall pick, fans were still furious at GM Nico Harrison for trading away their franchise star, with protests taking place at games after the trade.

It's unclear whether Mavericks fans were more angry at the move itself, the fact that the team didn't shop Doncic around or the arrogance of Harrison, but it created a whirlwind of drama in the organization. One person that has been very vocal about the move is former majority owner Mark Cuban, who has publicly commented on the fact that he would not have done this deal.

Now, the minority owner has spoken on the trade again, making it clear that he understands the pain of Mavs fans, stating that he regrets not being there to shut the deal down.

"I felt like I let people down by not being there."

Sure, heading into the new year the Mavericks have Cooper Flagg and Anthony Davis as a result, but that's nothing compared to a home-grown, All-NBA superstar that could be an MVP candidate year after year.

No matter what, the trade is now done with and it can never be taken back, and while both teams are prepared to move on and chase an NBA title, it's safe to say that if Cuban was still there, this move never goes through.
