Miami Heat Reportedly Not Discussing an Andrew Wiggins Trade With Any Team
Sep 18, 2025
The Miami Heat have been rather quiet this offseason, and while they landed Norman Powell in a three-team deal, they've made very few moves beyond that. They have been linked to some big moves, however, with reports emerging that they're eyeing Kevin Durant in free agency next summer.
Beyond that, recent reports revealed that they were in active discussions with the Los Angeles Lakers, who were looking to acquire star two-way wing Andrew Wiggins.
NBA reporter Brett Siegel has now squashed those reports, revealing that the team has no desire to move him as of right now, although things may change depending on how the first few months of the regular season play out.
“Right now, the Heat don't hold much of a desire to trade Wiggins and are operating under the mindset of waiting to see how things play out during the first few months of the regular season, sources said. Miami has held a high asking price for the former first-overall pick, one that the Lakers haven't been willing to meet.”
Unsurprisingly, the Heat are optimistic they can compete in the wide-open Eastern Conference in 2025, but if they struggle early, they may open up a bidding war for the forward ahead of the trade deadline.

Ultimately, the Lakers usually get what they want, and if they push hard enough for Wiggins, there's time for this to change, but as of right now, the team is heading into the 2025–26 season with Wiggins on their roster.
