New Report States That Steve Kerr's Time In The NBA Is Quickly Coming To An End

For the past 15 years, the Golden State Warriors have been the best and the most successful team in the NBA, winning four NBA Championships behind the core led by Steph Curry, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson. One key piece of this success has been Steve Kerr, who took over from Mark Jackson as Head Coach, and given his experience both as a coach and player, he fit seamlessly with this group and what they wanted to accomplish.

In 875 games as coach for the Warriors, Kerr has posted a record of 567-308 while winning Coach of the Year back in 2015/16, but clearly, the NBA's last great dynasty is clearly slowing down. That may mean the departure for Kerr as well, as reports from Tim Karakami have now revealed that in 2026/27, Kerr may be looking for his 'Last Dance' before retiring from coaching in the NBA with Golden State.

As of right now, the Warriors sit in the final play-in spot in the Western Conference, but if they can get healthy with Curry and Jimmy Butler especially, this is a team that could make one last push at their fifth NBA Championship as a group next season.

Ultimately, Kerr will be remembered as one of the best coaches in the modern NBA, and while some believe he's simply a product of the players on the floor in Golden State, his record speaks for itself, so if this is the end, it's been a fantastic run for Kerr as a Head Coach.
