Phoenix Suns Owner Mat Ishbia Facing Several More Lawsuits From Former Owners
Aug 28, 2025
Mat Ishbia's reign at the top of the Phoenix Suns has been nothing short of a disaster, and after the team dealt Kevin Durant, the future isn't looking too bright either. Despite his confidence as a leader in Phoenix, there's been issue after issue for Ishbia, and now, things are getting bad off the court.
Already, Ishbia was facing several lawsuits from various different sources, and now, a pair of former minority owners of the team have joined in, officially filing lawsuits on Wednesday.
According to reports, two former minority owners have also filed a lawsuit against Ishbia, noting that he is forbidding access to internal records, something that that should be legally available for them.
"Our clients sued to obtain records to which they are entitled as minority owners of the Suns. They are concerned by the manager's approach towards minority owners, and want more information about certain spending and capital raises in which the manager has engaged. Transparency with minority owners is not optional, and our clients think it is critical to the success of the Suns."

Given some of the moves that Ishbia has made that effects the team, it's no shock that dysfunction continues to follow him, with many concerned about the direction of the team under Ishbia. With these two, it's up to six people currently involved in a lawsuit with the current Suns owner, and with the team's future not looking to bring, fans of the team are in for a long, tough stretch moving forward under Ishbia.
