Knicks Reporter Suggests That Mike Brown Could Make Big Change To the Starting Lineup

The New York Knicks made their first Eastern Conference Finals in 25 years in 2025, but in the off-season, they made the surprise move to fire Head Coach Tom Thibodeau. After years of almost making the move, the team brought in Mike Brown, who will bring his dynamic, fast-paced offense to one of the deepest teams in the entire NBA.

With a team loaded with stars like Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, Mikal Bridges and OG Anunoby, the arrival of Brown brings with it expectations of an NBA Championship. That potential success depends on changes that he makes, and now, Knicks reporter Ian Begley has revealed the one change that Brown may make to the Knicks starting lineup ahead of next season.

"Mike Brown's history suggests he's not going to go double big off the bat. His history suggests that it's more likely that if he does make a change, that it's a McBride and a Hart off the bench. But he said that he's open."

In Begley's latest report, he predicts that if Brown is to shake things up, it will likely result in Josh Hart heading to the bench in place of potential breakout star Miles 'Duece' McBride.

This would be a major shakeup to team chemistry, and with a bench of Jordan Clarkson, Hart, Guerschon Yabusele and Mitchell Robinson, this Knicks team would be incredibly deep. Only time will tell whether or not Brown pulls the trigger on shaking things up or whether he believes his system can change the lineup, but for now, it's something to keep a close eye on.
