Anonymous NBA Executive Makes Major Prediction About Anfernee Simons in Boston

Anfernee Simons was the key piece for Boston in the Celtics/Trail Blazers trade involving Jrue Holiday, but his future with the team remains unclear. Currently, there is speculation surrounding a potential trade from Boston, but if not, it's expected that he'll come off the bench.

The starting backcourt in Boston will likely be Payton Pritchard and Derrick White with Jaylen Brown at the 3, and even with the Jayson Tatum injury, that's a talented team. However, one NBA executive believes that Simons could have a career year, even going as far to predict that he will be the Celtics top scorer this year.

“I bet you he’s their leading scorer. Even with Jaylen. He’s going to have the ball a lot, and that dude can really score. That offense is going to have to change to accommodate him, and, on the last year of his contract, he’s going to let it fly. As the kids say, he’s a bucket. He is. That dude is a bucket. He can really fill it up. And remember, he was averaging around 20 in the West. What do you think he’s going to do in the Eastern Conference, which is a LOT less competitive? How’s he not going to score and score big?”

That belief mainly stems from the fact that Simons is in a contract year and wants to put up as much production as possible, but if he remains on the bench unit, that may not end up being possible.

Whatever his role, Simons remains one of the NBA's brightest young offensive talents, and if he can find his groove in Boston, don't be shocked to see Joe Mazulla get the best out of him.
