Zach Lavine Makes Major Statement After 42-Point Outbreak

Zach LaVine's time with the Sacramento Kings hasn't exactly been full of success, and with the team currently sitting at 6–17, it's likely that they'll look to move some of their key veterans in the coming months. Lavine is among the group that is expected to be dealt, and while many believe he's past his best, he's been able to perform admirably despite the team's struggles this year.

In 21 games, LaVine has averaged 21 points on 39% from the arc, and at the trade deadline, he could potentially net this team a solid return. In their last game, the 30-year-old guard posted 42 points on just 24 shots, a performance that once again shows how good he can be as a scorer when given the opportunity.

When asked about his game, LaVine seemingly took a shot at the organization, stating that he could do that every night if they gave him the ball.

“I can do that any night if they give me the damn ball enough.”

While there's talent on this Kings team, it's clear that there's been no set game plan or roles defined for these veterans, with LaVine and Domantas Sabonis both clearly frustrated with their roles already in 2025–26.

With the ability to still score like this, LaVine will be a crucial pickup for a contending team at the deadline this year, and given that he's not the only one frustrated in Sacramento, don't be shocked to see this team blow it up and try to start again moving forward.
