Draymond Green Fires Back at Alperen Sengun After Recent Comments
Aug 22, 2025
The Golden State Warriors have had no lack of rivals during their run at the top of the NBA, and after the NBA Playoffs a season ago, they may have found a new one. In the first round, the team encountered the young, up-and-coming Houston Rockets, and while it was a tough series that went to 7 games, it was the Warriors who came out on top.
This offseason, Rockets star Alperen Şengün decided to spice things up with his comments on the Warriors when he had this to say about that series:
"They're a very experienced team, and they fouled a lot. In the playoffs, they don't call it. But they were the ones crying all series about fouls not being called."
Unsurprisingly, these comments made their way to Warriors star Draymond Green, who had to have some fun with it, making two comments on social media about Şengün's complaints.
While the Warriors' success comes on the back of Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and their great depth, Green has been a key part of that, and for the most part, his success comes from getting in his opponents' heads and shutting them down. While Şengün doesn't single out Green, it's safe to say that he may be one of the players that the Rockets star is talking about, meaning that his mind games worked as planned.

With both teams gunning for the NBA Championship in 2025–26 after Houston landed former Warrior Kevin Durant, this could get even spicier this season, and after these comments, something is bound to happen between these two on the court.
