NBA Reporter Reveals Miami's Desperation to Move Terry Rozier

The Miami Heat are optimistic heading into the 2025-26 season with their deep and solid roster, but before training camp, they may look to make some more changes. After adding Norman Powell via trade earlier in the summer, their roster seems set, but according to reports, there's one more big change expected.

According to Ethan Skolnick, the team is eyeing a trade partner for veteran guard Terry Rozier for what the reporter describes as 'just about anything.'

“So, according to sources for the Five on the Floor podcast (part of the Five Reasons Sports Network), the Heat have been actively shopping the expiring final year of Rozier's contract (worth $24-26 million depending on incentives) for just about anything, but specifically frontcourt help.”

Rozier enters the final year of his current contract in 2025/26, and even after averaging 11, 4, and 3 a season ago in Miami, the team has good guard depth and has no need for the 31-year-old. What the team does need is depth up front beyond Kel'el Ware, who is currently the only center with NBA experience on their roster, with Bam Adebayo set to play the 4, making Rozier the perfect trade candidate to give them much-needed depth up front.

It's unclear exactly how much interest there is in Rozier around the league and what a potential trade could net the Heat in return, but with the team believing they can compete in the injury-riddled Eastern Conference this season, don't be shocked to see them get a deal done before the 2025/26 season.
