Caitlin Clark Drops Bombshell Update On Her Injury Status
Sep 8, 2025
After a hot start to the 2025 season, Caitlin Clark started missing long stretches of games for the Indiana Fever due to injury. Now, Clark has made an announcement that Fever fans have been dreading to hear as they held out hope for her return.
On Thursday, the Fever superstar went on X to let the world know that there would be no comeback from injury this year.
“I had hoped to share a better update, but I will not be returning to play this season,” Clark tweeted. “I spent hours in the gym every day with the singular goal of getting back out there, disappointed isn’t a big enough word to describe how I am feeling.”
Clark, who last played for the Fever on July 15, expressed her gratitude for the people who supported her as she dealt with hurdle after hurdle this season.
“I want to thank everyone who had my back through all the uncertainty. This has been incredibly frustrating, but even in the bad, there is good. The way the fans continued to show up for me, and for the Fever, brought me so much joy and important perspective,” the 2024 Rookie of the Year added.
After Clark’s sensational debut season that saw incredible upticks in live attendance and TV viewership, fans looked forward to seeing more of CC in her sophomore year. But the injury bug made its presence felt, first by way of a quad strain and then later on with groin issues that punctuated Clark’s season.

Clark ended her Tweet with a powerful message for her running mates in Indianapolis.
“I am so proud of how this team has only gotten stronger through adversity this year. Now it’s time to close out the season and claim our spot in the Playoffs,” she concluded.
Though the Fever’s playoff push has been less than ideal with Clark on the sidelines, the team (21-20) is currently eighth in the standings, not that far behind seventh-place Seattle Storm (22-20) and sixth-place Golden State Valkyries (23-18).
If anything, Clark’s Tweet can serve as a rallying cry for the Fever as they fight to secure a playoff spot for the second consecutive year.
