Jusuf Nurkic Makes Ridiculous Comments on Defending Bucks Star Giannis Antetokounmpo

Jusuf Nurkic has been a very solid, consistent player throughout his NBA career, but to this point, he's never quite become the All-Star caliber player that some potentially expected. As a result, he's bounced around the league and been a good depth piece for teams, but beyond that, he's failed to establish himself as a top tier player on either end of the floor.

Somehow though, his recent comments suggest he is a Defensive Player of the Year caliber player, as he called out Giannis Antetokounmpo and his weaknesses at EuroBasket.

“At the end of the day, just stop him in transition and live with his shots. Generally, he’s sucked at those defenses the last few years he’s played in EuroBasket. But it’s not only him, so we will be ready.”

In his comments, Nurkic called out the two-time MVP, stating that when opponents give him room to shoot and stop him in transition, he's traditionally 'sucked'. After making these comments, fans were quick to point out Nurkic's struggles against Giannis in the NBA, as he has averaged 34-11-6 in six games played against the Hornets big in the past seven seasons.

While Antetokounmpo may not have the best team around him with Greece, he remains a top-three player in the entire world, and no matter what defense's do, they haven't managed to slow him down yet. After these comments however, Nurkic will have the opportunity to put his money where his mouth is, and the next time they match up, you can bet Giannis will be targeting him.
