Cooper Flagg Reveals the Unique Way He's Simulating His Fit With Mavericks Top Stars

Cooper Flagg was the easy No. 1 overall pick for the Dallas Mavericks this season, and given his talent and versatility, he's the perfect fit for this lineup that expects to do big things in 2025/26. This is a lineup that, when healthy will include Kyrie Irving, Anthony Davis, Derrick Lively and Klay Thompson, and at the three, Flagg is a potential superstar.

With training camp ahead, Flagg will get the opportunity to play with those stars soon as he looks forward to his first NBA campaign that comes with plenty of expectations. In a recent report, Alder Almo revealed how Flagg has been preparing for that fit, revealing that he's been using NBA 2K26 to see how he would fit beside Davis and Irving.

Given his versatility as a player, the fit is expected to be a very good one for the Mavericks, as he's a capable player on both ends of the floor with shooting, athleticism and a fantastic basketball IQ. Despite standing at 6-foot-9, there have been some suggestions that Flagg could even play the two-guard next season to bring P.J. Washington into the starting lineup, but whatever way the team play it, it will be because Flagg has immense versatility.

With Irving and Davis eventually getting healthy, the sky is seemingly the limit for a Dallas team that plays well on both ends, has star power and depth and versatility, and even in the loaded West, if Flagg gets adjusted quickly, this team is a threat.
