Jrue Holiday Makes Shock Statement About Former Teammate Payton Pritchard

This off-season, the Boston Celtics traded Jrue Holiday to the Portland Trail Blazers after he was a key piece in not one, but two NBA Championships with Milwaukee and Boston over the past five years. This was one of the most successful stretches for a player in recent memory, with Holiday bringing his shutdown defensive prowess to two loaded teams as they claimed Championship glory.

After his departure from Boston, he was a guest on the Run it Back podcast, addressing many things from his time in Boston as he prepares to join an up-and-coming Trail Blazers team. One question he was asked is who is the toughest player in Boston to guard in practice, and his answer may surprise you.

Despite playing alongside the likes of Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, Derrick White and even potentially Kristaps Porzingis, it was Sixth Man of the Year Payton Pritchard that Holiday named. Obviously, this isn't slander to any of the other players mentioned, as Holiday was nothing but respectful of everyone in Boston, but given what a spark plug Pritchard was off the bench this season, it's easy to see why he may be tough to guard when getting hot.

With the injury to Tatum, it's likely that Pritchard will be a starter this season for Boston, and if he can bring the same type of energy to the lineup that he did off the bench this past season, Holiday could be proven very right this season as he has the chance to break out in a big way.
