Fears Growing Around the NBA Over the Health of Joel Embiid's Knee Injury

Joel Embiid is one of the most physically gifted players that the NBA has ever seen, but throughout his career, he's been hampered by injuries that have continually worn his body down. So much so, that in his early 30's, Embiid has missed several full seasons, but with over 450 regular season games under his belt, he's clearly wearing down early, with very few full seasons played in the NBA.

Unfortunately, he suffered an injury in the 2023/24 season and never fully recovered, coming back to play in the first round against the Knicks, and again in 2024/25, he played in just 19 games. While there are several injuries, it's a knee injury that has hampered him the most, with many worried about his future in the NBA.

Now, according to top reporter Brett Siegel, there are fears growing around the NBA that his injury could be much worse than expecting, with the potential for it to completely effect his future.

In Siegel's latest comments, he reveals that while the severity of the injury is downplayed in Philadelphia, many around the league fear that this could stop him from ever playing at 100% again, and given his elite talent, this is likely the end of his prime. As of right now however, no one may quite know just how bad things are in Philadelphia with Embiid, but given that he's played just 58 regular season games over the past two years and is now 31-years of age, we've seen the last of his prime, and this may ultimately be a career that gets cut severely short.
