Lakers Staffer Gives Behind-the-Scenes Look at This Superstar

There’s a lot of speculation about how superstars act behind the scenes. We’ve heard the stories of how players like Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan could be rude or even vicious to teammates or staff. Of course, we also hear about players who are a pleasure to work with behind the scenes. Everyone doesn’t have enough nice things to say about players like Stephen Curry.

Luka Doncic has had mixed reviews. It seems like most of Luka’s teammates and coaches love him, but he’s also shown on the court some attitude issues that surely have caused friction. After all, the Dallas Mavericks decided their franchise was better off without him even after he took them to the NBA Finals.

One Lakers staff member recently talked about what Luka is like behind the scenes.

"If people knew what Luka is like to all of us, you would have the best possible opinion about him. Same way we have it of him. Doesn't matter if it's people from minority backgrounds or people that get a job despite being physically handicapped. Whoever it is, Luka as a person and on his human side is even bigger than what he represents as a basketball player. I can't tell you even nearly enough - but believe me, what he is giving us with his kindness, warmth, understanding is worth the most. We feel like we are his, he really gives all of us that feeling. And then when he wins, when his team wins, I say 'we won' and I really feel like that. Because we are his and we win with him. He lets us know that every day."

It’s awesome to hear this about Luka. Hopefully he will have a long career in Los Angeles if the front office feels the same way about him as this staffer does.
