Sacramento Kings 'Locked In' On Landing Top Priority Jonathan Kuminga

This off-season has been a whirlwind in Golden State, with the team constantly dealing with the drama surrounding talented young forward Jonathan Kuminga. To this point, the Warriors have been insistent on keeping the talented 22-year old, but with the young forward wanting to be valued long-term, he has continued to shut down any offers from the organization.

Despite all of this, the Warriors have shown little interest in trading him, leaving them at a critical standstill just weeks before training camp ahead of the new season is set to begin.

One team that has pushed hard for Kuminga is the Sacramento Kings, who reportedly offered a package centred around draft picks and Malik Monk to land Kuminga. Now, Sam Amick has reported that the team have made landing him their top priority this off-season as they are once again locked in on landing the 22-year old.

Given their young core of Keegan Murray and Keon Ellis alongside veterans, it makes sense that the Kings would look to add a 22-year old that's averaged 16 and 15 points in his last two seasons in Golden State. It's unclear however if there's an offer that Sacramento can make to pry him away from the Warriors, but if there is, they may do it as they look to add to this core of the future.

For now though, there appears to be no end in sight for the standoff with Kuminga and the Warriors, but with the Kings pushing hard, there's renewed optimism from Sacramento that a deal can get done.
