Derrick Rose's Jersey Retirement Game Reportedly the Most Expensive In Chicago Bulls History
Aug 22, 2025
Derrick Rose officially retired from the NBA recently, and already, he's going to be honoured in a huge way by his former team. As announced on Thursday, the Chicago Bulls will be retiring the number of their former No. 1 overall draft pick, who had an incredible, but short-lived career with the team.
In that time, he became the NBA's youngest ever MVP, but unfortunately, his time there was cut short after suffering some dreadful and heartbreaking injuries. As a hometown kid, Rose became beloved in Chicago, and now the No. 1 will forever hang in the rafters alongside No. 23, 10, 4 and 33.
Unfortunately for some fans, getting in to see this ceremony isn't going to be cheap, as Tick Pick have now reported that the retirement ceremony night is the most expensive home game in Chicago Bulls franchise history.
This is a franchise that has won six NBA Championships and seen some of the most iconic players in the history of the sport doing battle, but given how beloved Rose is, this shouldn't come as a major surprise. What's also not surprising is that this game will pass another iconic Rose game, as it surpasses the final game of Rose's playoff career in Chicago when they took on LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Ultimately, this is going to be one of the most historic nights in Chicago Bulls franchise history, and while the prices are high, it's for good reason as the organization will pay tribute to one of the greatest ever players to don the iconic Bulls jersey.
