Dallas Mavericks Reportedly Looking For Massive Return For Veteran Forward
Jan 26, 2026
The Dallas Mavericks fell short in the 2024 NBA Finals, but since that point, things have only gone downhill for the franchise. That began with the Luka Doncic trade, and while they got Cooper Flagg out of it, their hopes of contending in 2025/26 have simply not panned out.
That's led to plenty of trade speculation, with many around the NBA believing that not only would trading Anthony Davis be best for the franchise, but it's a move the team is looking to make. While that's now unlikely to happen, it doesn't mean they're not looking to move other players, with the likes of Naji Marshall now coming into the spotlight.
According to Marc Stein, while the team is motivated to move Marshall, they won't even listen to an offer that does not begin with at least one first-round pick.
This season, the six-year veteran has averaged a career-high 14.7 points to go along with 5 rebounds and 3 assists, and given his experience at the NBA level and his prowess on the defensive end, it's easy to see why the asking price is so high for Dallas.

At 28 years of age, Marshall could be a massive pickup for any contending team around the NBA, and while it's no guarantee that he's moved, if the Mavericks do get that first-round pick in an offer, they're likely to take it.
