Cooper Flagg Set To Miss All-Star Weekend With An Injury
Feb 12, 2026
Coming into the 2025 NBA Draft, Cooper Flagg was hailed as one of the most complete prospects we've seen in years, as he was put on the same level as the likes of Victor Wembanyama. In his rookie campaign, Flagg has shown that he's got the ability to be as good as any No. 1 overall pick in the last decade, averaging 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists per game through the first 49 games of his career.
Injuries have not been a major worry for Flagg throughout his college and NBA days thus far, but unfortunately, he's now suffered his first potentially major injury. According to reports, Flagg will officially miss the All-Star weekend with a mid foot sprain, and while it's unclear how long he will be out, this isn't a good sign for the Mavericks star.
As of right now, it appears as though he should be back shortly after the All-Star weekend, and given how important he is to Dallas' future, it's no surprise that they want to keep him out of the Rising Stars Game. Sure, it would have been fun to see the likely Rookie of the Year on that stage, but with health being his No. 1 priority, this is the right move for the Mavericks organization.

Ultimately, this is a player that could one day be top-five in the entire NBA, and while he won't be on the big stage of the All-Star Weekend this year, he's expected to be an All-Star many times throughout his NBA career moving forward.
