Anthony Davis Believes He And Trae Young Can Be A Dynamic Duo in Washington
Feb 24, 2026
The Washington Wizards have been one of the NBA's worst teams for quite some time, but with some great young players coming through, the belief is that they could start to compete in the coming years. Clearly, the team thought so too, as they were aggressive at the 2026 trade deadline, landing both Trae Young and Anthony Davis, pairing them with the young core of Alex Sarr, Kyshawn George and Bilal Coulibaly among others.
While some don't think that the injury prone duo of Davis and Young are set to be in Washington long-term, given what the Wizards gave up to land them, clearly they are a major part of Washington's plans moving forward. It appears as though Davis agrees, as he recently opened up on the move to Atlanta, stating that he believes the combination of he and Young could represent the next great 'dynamic duo' in Washington.
“I think me and Trae can be a dynamic duo.”
Unfortunately, both are currently sidelined, and there's a chance we don't see either in the 2025/26 season, but if they get healthy over the summer, this will be the best Wizards duo since the days of John Wall and Bradley Beal.

Only time will tell what the future holds for both players in Washington, but given the raw talent around them combined with a potential top pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, the future is looking very bright for the Wizards.
