Nikola Jokic Reveals His Plans For The Future and Retirement

While his career started slow, Nikola Jokic has been the best player in the NBA over the past five years, and with three MVP's in that time, he's arguably having a top-five peak in NBA history right now. Despite all of this, one part of his character that people like is his seemingly indifferent feelings towards basketball and all of his success, despite achieving some things that many could never even dream of.

As a result, the belief among many fans is that after his current contract was up, Jokic would retire early and follow his true passion in his home country: horses. However, that may no longer be the case, as Malika Andrews has now reported that Jokic wants to play into his late 30's, and at 31-years of age, that means at least another 5-6 years of the Joker.

Whether that all comes in Denver or whether Jokic decides he wants to test himself elsewhere, only time will tell, but for fans of his dominant game, it's safe to say that this comes as good news. Across his 11 season career thus far, Jokic is averaging 22 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists per game, but with the star center posting 29/13/10 over his past two seasons, there's few in history that can compare to him.

Ultimately, if he continues on this pace, Jokic could end his career as a top-10 player in league history, and while that's still a long way off, he's got some great years still ahead of him.
