Mar 31, 2026
From the moment he stepped foot in the NBA, Victor Wembanyama has been must-see for the San Antonio Spurs, and in 2025/26, the French phenom has taken his game to another level entirely. Despite being just 22-years of age, the former No. 1 overall pick has solidified himself as arguably the best player in the NBA, with many around the league ready to pick him for MVP in 2025/26.
In 2025/26, Wembanyama is not only the favorite for the Defensive Player of the Year award, but he's averaging an impressive 25 PPG, 11 RPG and 3 APG, all while leading the Spurs to a top seed in the Western Conference. On Monday, it ws all on display once again, as Wembanyama dominated the Chicago Bulls, posting 41 points, 16 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 blocks as they came away winners 129-114 in the process.
Not only that, but Wemby posted 10 points and 10 rebounds in just 8 minutes of action, representing the fastest double-double posted by any player in NBA history.
Stunningly, this comes just a year after he accomplished the feat in 10 minutes, meaning he now has two of the three fastest double-double's in NBA history. Ultimately, this statistic alone doesn't make Wembanyama one of the best players in the NBA, but the fact that he's done it twice while playing incredible defense on the other end shows just why he'll be a top tier player in the NBA for years to come.
