Two Western Conference Teams Remain Favorites To Land Coby White
Jan 28, 2026
The NBA trade deadline is fast approaching, and while we've only seen one big trade thus far in 2025–26, there's plenty of speculation circulating in the league heading into the deadline. Those rumors have circled many teams, but none more so than the Chicago Bulls, who could look to be either buyers or sellers ahead of the deadline, depending on how their next few weeks go.
The one player that could be moved in a deal is Coby White, as the team is seemingly intent on building around Josh Giddey as their guard and leader of the future. There's been plenty of interest around the league in White thus far, and now, it appears as though two clear front-runners have emerged.
According to Joe Cowley, both the Houston Rockets and Minnesota Timberwolves, two teams looking to upgrade at the point guard spot, are considered favorites to land the star Bulls guard. The 25-year-old averaged a career-high 20 points a year ago, and in 25 games in 2025–26, he is putting up 19 points, 5 assists, and 4 rebounds per game, and with the Bulls pivoting towards Giddey, he would make a perfect solution for either Minnesota or Houston.

On paper, White may not have the potential that many predicted from him during his breakout 2024–25 campaign, but if he can average a solid 19 points a night and play good defense, then expect him to be one of the most sought-after players in the NBA at the deadline.
