Toronto Raptors Make Two Players Untouchable In Trade Talks

As of Wednesday, it appears as though Giannis Antetokounmpo will be traded before the 2026 NBA trade deadline, leaving many teams around the league in a frenzy as they look to potentially land a two-time MVP. However, each of those teams has its untouchables, with Atlanta unwilling to move Jalen Johnson, and now, we know who the untouchables in Toronto are.

According to a report from Grant Afseth, the Raptors have made the duo of Scottie Barnes and Brandon Ingram untouchable, but given their assets moving forward, that doesn't take them out of the running to land Giannis.

Beyond these two, this is still a team with the likes of Immanuel Quickley, RJ Barrett, Gradey Dick, and Collin Murray-Boyles all to potentially be moved. With a 29–20 record, this is a team that's emerged in 2025–26 as a genuine threat in the wide-open Eastern Conference, and if they could somehow add Giannis to a team that keeps Ingram and Barnes, it would make them a legitimate NBA Championship contender.

Obviously, though, any trade to land a two-time MVP would cost them assets, and with significant draft capital moving forward, they would need to be certain that Giannis was in it for the long haul in Toronto. Ultimately, they are one of the top teams in the Giannis sweepstakes, and if they can somehow pull it off, Toronto's chances in 2025–26 and beyond become legitimate, but obviously, that's a lot easier said than done.
