Stephen Curry Still Has Hope For the Warriors Season
Feb 20, 2026
The Golden State Warriors probably aren’t going to be contenders this season. Even before Jimmy Butler tore his ACL, the Warriors didn’t show that they could compete with the best teams in the Western Conference. With Butler now out their chances go down even more.
Still, Curry and the rest of the Warriors organization have held firm that they believe this team has a chance. A chance to win it all? Probably not. But a chance to make some noise? Potentially.

Curry recently sat down with Malika Andrews and discussed his expectations for the Warriors this season.
“This has been such a unique year, but as long as we can find our way into a playoff series, we feel like we’re a tough out for anybody at the top of the West. With Porzingis here, hopefully he’s healthy and able to be out there consistently because we know what he’s capable of doing and the new dynamic that he gives us as a stretch big next to Draymond, you know, Al Horford for our frontline that is wise and has so much experience and versatility there.
But then our young guys are coming up. Moses is playing unbelievable, Melton being healthy, being back and helping us. So all those pieces are starting to align. With Jimmy going out, that was an emotional moment in the season, not just for him and where he’s at in his career. Hopefully he comes back healthy.”
Curry is always the optimist. Sure there is a world where everything breaks right for the Warriors and they can win a couple playoff rounds. The more like scenario is that they lose in the Play-In Tournament or early in the playoffs. However if Curry can get healthy for a late season run, anything can happen.
