Skip Bayless Has Ridiculous Comments About Tatum's Return to the Celtics

The return of Jayson Tatum to the Celtics has a lot of people in Boston very excited. What looked like it could be a wasted season now looks like another opportunity for the Celtics to make a deep playoff run. Adding Tatum to an already great team means that the Celtics could surprise everyone and win another Eastern Conference title.

Not everyone thinks that Tatum’s return is beneficial to everyone. Skip Bayless made some wild comments about how Tatum’s return is actually hurting Jaylen Brown’s MVP case.

“What if they had a gap year, what if they were way out of the playoffs. Do you think Jayson comes back? If they were 21-42 is Jayson going to say, yeah I want to play the last bit of the season. Everybody would say you’re out of your freaking mind. Jaylen made Jayson possible and then it cost Jaylen any MVP consideration at all. Because soon as Jayson step back on the floor it’s over for Jaylen Brown in the MVP race.”

What’s crazy about this comment is that there is no chance Jaylen Brown was going to win the MVP this season. Sure, he is having an incredible year, and that is partly because Jayson Tatum was gone.

But individual accolades have never been what the Celtics are about. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown have repeatedly told the media they care about one thing and one thing only, and that’s winning. With Tatum back in the lineup, the Celtics have a better chance at winning it all. Brown cares a hell of a lot more about that than getting voted fourth or fifth in the MVP race.
