Phoenix Suns Star To Miss Some Time With A Broken Hand
Feb 23, 2026
The Phoenix Suns entered the 2025/26 NBA season with very few expectations, and after trading Kevin Durant, the belief was that Devin Booker simply didn't have the talent around him to compete. However, with the arrival of Dillon Brooks, who has been known for a long time as a culture setter, the team have defied those odds, going 33-25 thus far as they sit in seventh place in the Western Conference standings.
Unfortunately, they've now suffered a major loss, as Brooks will miss significant time moving forward following a broken hand.
According to ESPN, Brooks has been labelled as 'out indefinitely', and for a Suns team that desperately needs his intensity and production on both ends of the floor, this could be a devastating loss for their 2025/26 season. While the Suns have a good lead in the standings, sitting 5 games up on the final play-in spot in the West, a loss of Brooks could be brutal for the team, especially given the schedule that they've got upcoming.

This season, Brooks has averaged 21 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists per game, and while it's still Booker as the star of the show, Brooks gives this team an identity that they need both on and off the floor. Ultimately, this next stretch of games could define the season for Phoenix, but if they can hang on until Brooks gets back, this is a team that could be a dark horse in the West this season.
