Nikola Jokić Comments On Victor Wembanyama's Potential

For years now, Nikola Jokic has been one of, if not the best player in the entire NBA, putting together a career that matches up with any center in league history. In that time, he's proven time and time again how good he is, winning MVP three times, with many fans and analysts believing that he should have at least five of those awards.

Given his talent, it's easy for Jokic to spot talent, and like so many others around the NBA, he's had nothing but praise for former No. 1 overall pick, Victor Wembanyama. When recently asked about the Spurs superstar, Jokic had nothing but praise for him, even going as far to say that he will change basketball with the style that he plays.

“He is changing basketball. He’s a rim protector, he’s shooting threes. He is unique. I’m glad that I’ll probably retire before Wemby holds the entire league in a chokehold.”

According to Jokic, he'll be retired before Wemby truly has the NBA in a chokehold, but at 22-years of age, he's already not too far away from being the face of the NBA given his production in 2025/26 on both ends of the floor.

While he may not win MVP in 2025/26, it's only a matter of time until the French superstar wins the award, and if he continues to elevate his game, he truly has the potential to be seen as an all-time great when his career is done.
