New Report Reveals The Two Players Milwaukee Were Targeting In A Giannis Trade

Over the past year, NBA fans have been consistently hearing about a potential Giannis Antetokounmpo trade, and while it didn't go down at the trade deadline, talks are expected to heat up again in the summer. It's unclear just how close things got to the Bucks dealing the two-time MVP, but as far as we know, there was plenty of interest around the league in him.

On paper, if the Bucks were to deal Antetokounmpo, it would come with a massive, blockbuster return, whether that be a future haul of draft picks or young players. We don't know all the teams involved, but now a report from Ramona Shelburne has lifted the lid a little, revealing two players that the Bucks were seeking in a Giannis deal.

“The players the Bucks did seem interested in were younger building blocks such as VJ Edgecombe of the Philadelphia 76ers or Evan Mobley of the Cleveland Cavaliers, sources said.”

According to Shelburne, the Bucks were seeking VJ Edgecome in chats with the Philadelphia 76ers and Evan Mobley in discussions with the Cleveland Cavaliers, although it's become clear that nothing really got close in these talks.

Ultimately, if trade talks head into the summer as well, the Bucks are likely to continue seeking a top tier young player or a haul of draft picks, and whether or not they can get what they want for their home grown, two-time MVP, only time will tell.
