Los Angeles Lakers Reportedly Targeting 'Two-Way Wing' Like Andrew Wiggins

The Los Angeles Lakers have completely transformed their team since last season with the Luka Doncic trade, but it appears they aren't yet done. After adding some intriguing pieces this summer, the lineup looks great on paper, but according to reports, there's still some moves this organization wants to make.

There are plenty of options out there, but in his latest report, Marc Stein has revealed that after Luka Doncic's long-term extension, they're ready to win, as they are set to target a two-way wing like Andrew Wiggins.

"...I wouldn’t have classified him as a potential purple-and-gold target before Doncic's long-term future was secured, but things are different now. So my sense is that the Lakers would have interest if the Heat, in coming weeks or months, decide to prioritize financial flexibility and look to reduce payroll."

It's unclear just how motivated the Heat are to move Wiggins, or what the Lakers would even have to entice them into making this move, but with the team motivated to chase an NBA title with their two stars leading the way, this interest makes perf sense.

Last season, Wiggins tallied 18, 5 and 3 between Golden State and Miami, and while he's not the star some hoped for, as a two-way wing, he remains an incredibly valuable player in the modern NBA. With the Eastern Conference reeling due to injury, the Heat may look at 2025/26 as a chance to make a genuine push, but if they want to look towards future assets, don't be surprised to see a deal get done with the Lakers here.
