Dwight Howard Reveals His Pick For The NBA's GOAT

The NBA's Greatest of All Time debate has been going on for decades, with Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Michael Jordan and LeBron James among others always brought up in discussions. For the most part in 2025, the debate rages around Jordan vs. James, but for some people, there are others worthy of that title that don't get mentioned enough.

Now, Hall of Famer Dwight Howard has opened up on his belief surrounding the GOAT debate in the NBA, naming Kareem-Abdul Jabbar as the greatest to ever play in the league. During his speech, Howard used the time to shout out Kareem, and given that they play the same position, this shouldn't come as much of a surprise to NBA fans.

"Kareem, I wish you could be here because you are my GOAT. You are the only player in NBA history to have two Hall of Fame careers. One as Lou Alcindor and the other as Kareem. I'm gonna get me a new name to come back and play y’all."

Before Jordan came along, Kareem was many people's pick for the GOAT, as he put up an incredible 38,387 points in his career, a number that was only recently passed by LeBron James. While Jordan and James are the likely pick for many these days, across a 22-year career, Abdul-Jabbar was dominant, and with 19 All-Stars, six MVP awards and six NBA titles under his belt, he will always be seen as one of the greats.
