Brooklyn Nets Named As A Potential Landing Spot For Veteran Andre Drummond If He's Bought Out
Sep 9, 2025
On Monday, it was revealed that the Philadelphia 76ers are looking to move on from two veterans in Kelly Oubre Jr. and Andre Drummond, with the team seemingly content with getting younger. We've not yet learned whether that will come via buyout or trade, but right now, all eyes are on the Sixers as they look to make a key decision on the future of the organization.
If they do move either player via the buyout option, there will be plenty of interest in them league wide, with Nets Daily now reporting that the Brooklyn Nets would be a potential landing spot for Drummond.
In his 13th NBA season in 2024/25, Drummond averaged 7 points and 8 boards for the 76ers, becoming a very valuable piece, especially with Joel Embiid's continued health issues. At 32-years of age, it's clear that Drummond's time as a starter in the NBA is behind him, but as a rebounder and a force down low, he can still be very effective.
What makes Brooklyn an attractive spot for Drummond is the opportunity for playing time behind Nic Claxton, who shares some offensive limitations like Drummond, with the team likely hoping that the veteran could mold their young star.

Beyond Brooklyn, there's likely to be plenty of interest in Drummond from contending teams, as they could look at him as a solid depth piece, and if he is moved by the 76ers, he'll need to make a big decision between playing time and a shot at post-season action.
