Kendrick Perkins Makes Ridiculous Comments On Luka Doncic's 2025/26 Season
Mar 19, 2026
Ever since he arrived in the NBA, Luka Dončić has established himself as a generational scorer, and across nine seasons, he has been among the best players in the entire NBA. Unfortunately, he's yet to chase down his first MVP award, and in 2025/26, it appears as though he'll be beaten out once again by either of his top Western Conference rivals, Nikola Jokić or Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
For the most part, though, the belief around the NBA is that he will be first-team All-NBA at the end of the 2025/26 NBA campaign on the back of averaging 33 points, 8 rebounds, and 9 assists per game. However, Kendrick Perkins has now come out and made one of the most ridiculous statements an NBA analyst has put on television, stating that he doesn't deserve to be first-team All-NBA.
While putting Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Nikola Jokić, and Victor Wembanyama over him makes sense, Dončić's numbers are far superior to Cade Cunningham and Jaylen Brown, and while one or the other deserves to be there, Dončić should be considered a lock for the first team. Not only is he averaging a ridiculous 33 points (first in the league), 8 rebounds (22nd in the league and first by a guard), and 8.5 assists (third in the league), but the Los Angeles Lakers are a three-seed in the West, and he's a massive part of that.

Ultimately, Perkins has had some takes in recent years, but this is up there with the worst of them, because, like it or not, Dončić has been one of the five best players in the NBA this season.
