Cavaliers Discussing Trade Possibilities Over Star Big Man
Feb 3, 2026
The Cleveland Cavaliers have already made one trade ahead of the 2026 NBA trade deadline, and now, it appears as though more are on the way. On Tuesday, reports emerged that the team were considering dealing Lonzo Ball to Charlotte while also weighing up a push for James Harden, dangling Darius Garland in potential trade talks.
The addition of Harden would change this team entirely, but according to new reports, Garland isn't the only potential long-time Cavalier that could be on the move. Following this report, Sam Amick has revealed that the team are exploring ways to trade big man Jarrett Allen, with the hopes of unlocking something much bigger moving forward.
“Their second-apron status has been well chronicled, but league sources say they’ve explored ways of trading the contract of big man Jarrett Allen ($90.7 million combined in the next three seasons) as a way of unlocking much bigger possibilities.”
This season, Allen is averaging 14 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists, and given how crucial he's been for this team since arriving from Brooklyn, it's safe to say that any move involving Allen would shake this roster up in a major, major way.

Ultimately, the Cavaliers have shown immense promise in recent years, but they've failed to turn that into NBA Playoffs success, and after their recent trade, all eyes are on this team as it looks like they're ready to make more moves to become a true NBA title contender in the East.
