Cam Thomas Reveals Why He Signed With The Milwaukee Bucks
Feb 10, 2026
Last summer, the Brooklyn Nets and Cam Thomas could not come to terms on a long-term extension, and as a result, he signed the one-year qualifying offer. Then, the team looked to shop him at the trade deadline, but unfortunately for the Nets front office, there was very little interest around the league in giving up an asset to land the talented scoring guard.
Following that, the team clearly thought it best to still move on from Thomas, as he was bought out following the 2026 trade deadline, as he then signed a free agency deal with the Milwaukee Bucks, who kept Giannis Antetokounmpo through the deadline. Now, the talented young guard has opened up on his decision to sign in Milwaukee, revealing why he chose to join them.
“I picked Milwaukee because they wanted me and they told me they’ve been interested for years now. So, it’s good to have this opportunity come to fruition. And I’m just hoping to meet everybody, get to know everybody and contribute as soon as possible.”
One of the biggest issues in Brooklyn was Thomas' lack of a defined role leading to success, but in Milwaukee, he reveals that they've had interest in him for years and have a role for him moving forward.

Whether or not Thomas has success in Milwaukee, only time will tell, but given the immense talent that now has great players around him, optimism is high for Thomas and the Bucks for the back half of the 2025/26 season.
