Sacramento Kings Make Team History With Latest Performance
Feb 20, 2026
Just a few short seasons ago, the Sacramento Kings were one of the most exciting young teams in the entire NBA, as they made it back to the NBA Playoffs, taking a Steph Curry-led Warriors team to the limit in round one. Since then however, the front office has continued to make some mind-boggling moves, as they dealt some of their young players in order to build around an ageing core of DeMar DeRozan, Domantas Sabonis, Zach Lavine and others.
That's a move that has unsurprisingly backfired, with the team now sitting at 12-45 on the season, putting them in last place in the Western Conference and last in the overall NBA standings. On Thursday, the team were blown out by 37 points at the hands of the Orlando Magic, and in the process, the Kings dropped their 15th straight game as they angle to land the No. 1 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft.
Unfortunately, in the process, they made franchise history, as this has now officially become the longest losing skid in franchise history.
While some came into the season optimistic, the Kings have been unable to stay healthy, and with their top stars out, things aren't going to get better for them anytime soon.

On paper, this is a team that's got a very dark future, with very few young stars emerging to lead the way, and while this may help their odds of landing the No. 1 overall pick, as of right now, things look bleak in Sacramento.
