Top NBA Contender in the Running To Sign Victor Oladipo In His Comeback Bid

Victor Oladipo has not played in the NBA since the 2022/23 season with the Miami Heat, and at 33-years of age, many believed that his career could potentially be over. Lately however, the former top draft pick has been attempting a comeback, with workouts of the veteran guard reportedly attended by several teams.

One of the most intriguing teams in attendance for Oladipo has been the Cleveland Cavaliers, and with the team looking for good veteran depth, he could be the perfect fit on the veteran minimum.

In his prime, Oladipo was one of the most explosive players in the NBA, averaging 21 points a night at his best, but during his last season with Miami over two years ago, he was putting up just 11 points a night in 26 minutes per game. That doesn't mean he can't be effective however, as this Cavaliers team was one that struggled against the high powered offense of the Indiana Pacers in the NBA Playoffs last year, so adding a veteran like Oladipo to give them added depth and a different look would certainly be something that makes sense for them.

When addressing a potential comeback to the NBA, this is what Oladipo had to say about his current health situation:

"I feel so great right now!! Better than I felt in the last seven years mind, body and soul. I know I am a fighter! I know I am a warrior! I have seen every lens this game and this league has to offer. I know I can help any team in any role win in any way! I also know the people want to see me succeed in this game and play at the highest level again. My injuries are behind me and it will never happen again! I am at peace with that and my past. I'm ready to build a present now and future of a life time."

It's unclear whether or not the Cavaliers have been in contact with Oladipo, but attending his workout is very telling over their interest level, but if he can contribute even just a little off the bench, signing him to a veteran minimum would be a great move for Cleveland.
