Golden State Warriors Reportedly Push Back On Steph Curry Trade Suggestions
Jan 27, 2026
Over the past 15 seasons, the Golden State Warriors have been led by superstar Steph Curry, who has helped guide them to four NBA championships, becoming one of the greatest players in NBA history in doing so. However, it's clear that the dynasty is coming to an end, with their last NBA Championship being back in 2022, and with the team losing Jimmy Butler for the season, things could get worse from here out.
The team is likely going to push for a trade to replace Butler, and given Jonathan Kuminga's trade request, it appears as though they may be getting aggressive. One shocking report has now revealed that the team has denied some of Curry's ideas in recent times, and while that may have been a good move from the front office, given the direction of the team, there's a chance that the front office has made some mistakes here.
"Management refused to make some trades suggested by Curry… There were some possible trades that Steph pushed and promoted, but which were not executed by the front office."
In the report, it wasn't revealed just who Curry was pushing the team to acquire via trade, and while they eventually went with Butler, it would be interesting to know who Curry wanted the team to pursue on the trade market.

Ultimately, the Warriors have had more than enough success with Curry to be satisfied with their last 15 years of work, but one can only wonder just how different things would have gone if they had listened to their star point guard.
