Knicks Reporter Reveals the Player Most Likely To be Traded Ahead of Next Season

The New York Knicks have been very busy this offseason, with the team looking to take the final step towards the NBA Finals in 2025/26. Earlier in the summer, the team added Guerschon Yabusele and Jordan Clarkson, and now, they've signed the veteran duo of Malcolm Brogdon and Landry Shamet to compete for roster spots.

As a result, the team may be forced to trade a player or two to keep them on their roster, leading to plenty of speculation about Leon Rose's next move. Now, reporter James Edwards has the latest, and in a shocking development, he predicts that 2024 first-round pick Pacôme Dadiet could be the player on the move.

“Talking to people in the league as of late, the name I keep hearing most is 20-year-old Pacôme Dadiet. I’ve gathered that the Knicks are entering camp with the idea of keeping Brogdon and Shamet, both of whom are on non-guaranteed deals, for the regular-season roster. That could change depending on how they perform, but that’s the vibe I’ve gotten. To keep both, the Knicks would have to make a trade. Given Dadiet’s age, size (6-8, 210), and projected profile if his development shakes out, he has more value around the league than the likes of youngsters Tyler Kolek or Ariel Hukporti, according to people I’ve spoken with. That is why if the Knicks want to make room for the two veterans, trading Dadiet makes the most sense. I can’t imagine it would be for more than a second-round pick, but some league executives I’ve spoken with think his value is higher than that of Kolek or Hukporti.”

At 6-foot-7, the 20-year-old is the prototypical wing in today's NBA, with many Knicks fans and those in the organization seeing him as a future role player for this team. However, if they want to keep both Brogdon and Shamet for a run in 2025/26, it will need to be him or another of their 2024 draft picks, so either way, the Knicks will likely need to part ways with a very valuable asset.
