Dallas Mavericks Officially Set To Part Ways With GM Nico Harrison
Nov 11, 2025
The Dallas Mavericks last year made one of, if not the most shocking trades in NBA history, moving the face of their franchise less than a season after leading them to the NBA Finals. It was a move that brought plenty of shock, but more backlash from Mavericks fans, who made their displeasure known with Dallas' front office.
The face of that front office is General Manager Nico Harrison, who was met with countless “fire Nico” chants throughout the rest of the 2024–25 season, despite landing an All-NBA talent in Anthony Davis. Even after landing the No. 1 overall pick and Cooper Flagg, it wasn't enough, as the hatred for Harrison is still boiling, with recent reports that the team could move on from him in the near future.
Now, that has been confirmed by ESPN's Shams Charania, who revealed that at 10 a.m. Central on Tuesday, the team is set to have a meeting with Harrison where they will officially part ways with their GM.
While the Mavericks may have gotten the No. 1 overall pick and generational prospect Cooper Flagg, it wasn't enough to stop their slow start, with the team currently sitting at 3–8 through their first 11 games.

It's unclear what the Mavericks plan is moving forward, and while the front office was behind Harrison, it's safe to say that with the power of hindsight, the move to trade away Luka Doncic would have been shut down, as Harrison clearly had no plan, and now, he has been fired.
