Executives In the NBA Believe Domantas Sabonis Could Be Made Available This Season
Nov 11, 2025
Just a few short years ago, the Sacramento Kings were a young, exciting team, making their way to the postseason in what was one of the most thrilling seasons in recent franchise history. Since then, however, the team has completely changed its core, moving some of their young franchise faces in exchange for veterans like Dennis Schroeder, Russell Westbrook, Zach LaVine, and DeMar DeRozan.
Unsurprisingly, that hasn't worked out too well for them, as they are 3–7 through their first 10 games, and with very little success or reason for optimism, this season isn't looking too positive for the Kings.
That has led to speculation around the future of star big man Domantas Sabonis, with NBA reporter Evan Sidery revealing that rival executives believe the Kings will make him available at some point this season.
Through 10 games this season, Sabonis' usage is at an all-time low for his run with the Kings, but despite that, he has averaged a very solid 15/14/4 early in the 2025–26 campaign. Unfortunately, though, the talent around him just isn't enough to get the job done, and with the Kings organization being in no-man's land, it's likely that they'll try to get a haul in return for him.

Once upon a time, Sabonis was seen as a player who could lead the Kings to success, but since deciding to change direction, the team around him just hasn't been good enough, and if they don't turn it around soon, don't be shocked to see him traded this season.
