Klay Thompson Reveals Surprising Plans For When He Retires From the NBA

Klay Thompson has had an incredible career in the NBA thus far, winning four NBA Championships in Golden State before moving on to the Dallas Mavericks in free agency. At 35-years of age, the sharp-shooter still has plenty to offer in the league, but it's now becoming clear his time in the league is winding down.

Last year, the star guard averaged 14 points for Dallas on 39% from beyond the arc, as he continues to show signs of slowing down. There's been no hint of retirement yet, but in a recent interview, Klay opened up on life after the NBA, revealing one thing that he'd love to do.

That one thing is compete in Ice Cube's 'Big3' competition, one that has seen many former NBA players compete in what has become a very fun tournament to watch during the NBA' off-season. While he didn't confirm talks already, Thompson opened up on the fact that he would consider playing, and given the money that's on offer, this would work out well for both Thompson and the league if it happened.

This past season, Big3 rosters included names like Michael Beasley, Mario Chalmers, Lance Stephenson, Corey Brewer, Dwight Howard and many other former NBA stars, and while it's not the highest level, it's fun for fans. Thompson's potential participation depends on how his career ends, but with the former four-time Champion wanting to remain in basketball after he retires, this is a fantastic option for the sharp-shooting guard.
