DeMarcus Cousins Calls Out Chris Paul; Believes He Isn't A Top-Five PG In NBA History

Chris Paul is seen by many as one of the greatest point guards to ever play in the NBA, and with his career still going, he's got a shot at the NBA Finals in 2025/26 with the Los Angeles Clippers. That long career has taken him from New Orleans to Los Angeles to Houston to Oklahoma City to Phoenix to Golden State to San Antonio and now back to the Clippers, with 20 great seasons under his belt.

However, his place in NBA history is up in the air, as he's never been an MVP threat and never won an NBA Championship, with opinions around the basketball world varying. Now, one former rival of CP3 has weighed in, but instead of supporting the long-time star, Demarcus Cousins has torn down any list that has Paul in the top-five all time.

“Every time I hear a top 5 all-time point guards list, Chris Paul is in it and I’m not sure why.”

While Paul is in contention for a place in the top-five, names also involved are Magic Johnson, Steph Curry, Isaiah Thomas, Jason Kidd, Steve Nash, John Stockton and others, meaning this very subjective ranking will likely change from person to person.

Ultimately, Paul will retire as one of the most respected players in NBA history, as he's been consistently incredible for 20 seasons now, and while lists of top-five players at a position are always subjective, it's hard to argue with Cousins' take on this one.
