Bulls Centre Nikola Vucevic Officially Retires From International Basketball

Nikola Vucevic has been one of the most consistent players in the NBA since arriving in the league back in 2011/12 with the Philadelphia 76ers. Since that time, he's played with the Orlando Magic and the Chicago Bulls averaging a solid 17 points, 11 boards and 3 assists a night over 14 years.

On top of that, he's also been a catalyst for the Montenegro National team, but after their defeat and subsequent elimination at EuroBasket 2025, he officially announced his retirement.

That retirement is just from international basketball, with the 35-year old looking to focus on the remainder of his NBA career. After five seasons with the Chicago Bulls, Vucevic is a free agent following the 2025/26 season, and given his experience and his talent, he'll be one of the most sought after players next summer.

In five games for Montenegro at the EuroBasket, Vucevic averaged 21 points a night along with 12 rebounds and 3 assists per night, but ultimately, the team just couldn't get the send off they were after.

In the end, the team were eliminated from the group stage on point differential, as they finished in 5th place in Group B, not good enough to qualify for the elimination rounds. This marks the end of Vucevic's international career, but with still so much to give in the NBA, there's plenty to look forward too for the veteran, especially as the Bulls look to make a playoff push in 2025/26 behind this intriguing young core group.
