A’ja Wilson Joins Exclusive Club After Winning 2025 WNBA MVP Award
Sep 22, 2025
A’ja Wilson is already one of the greatest women’s basketball players of all time. She is also only 29 years old. Over the weekend, it was announced that A’ja had won her fourth WNBA MVP award, making her the first player in WNBA history with four MVPs.
This is just one item on the long list of accolades that A’ja has already racked up in her eight-season career. However, this MVP award puts her in some truly elite company in both WNBA and NBA circles.
Between both leagues, only three other players have won four MVP awards before the age of 30. Wilson now joins Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Bill Russell, and LeBron James.
There aren’t many better names to share an accomplishment with. Russell is the greatest winner in basketball history, while Kareem and LeBron are two of the three names most often mentioned in the greatest-of-all-time conversation.
To make this list before turning 30 and to already have the career A’ja has is an incredible accomplishment. And just like the others, her career is far from over.

As the Las Vegas Aces pursue another WNBA championship in the 2025 playoffs, A’ja has a chance to add to her trophy case.
It’s hard to say what another championship (and probably another Finals MVP) would mean for her résumé. She already has two WNBA championships and three Defensive Player of the Year awards. If she keeps stacking accolades, it wouldn’t be surprising if she goes down as the greatest WNBA player ever.
