Sacramento Kings Confident They can Still Land Jonathan Kuminga

The saga of Jonathan Kuminga in Golden State has seemingly been non-stop this offseason, with no true resolution in sight for either party. As of right now, Kuminga wants to go somewhere with a significant role, all while Golden State wants to keep their raw, talented young forward, but unfortunately, no path forward has been found.

This has led to several other teams around the league showing significant trade interest in the 22-year-old, with the most intriguing team of all being the Sacramento Kings. Although there are conflicting reports out there, for the most part, the belief around the league is that they've been aggressive with their trade offers, most notably including Malik Monk in trade offers.

As of right now, though, things don't look likely to get done anytime soon, but that hasn't shaken the Kings’ confidence, as it is believed they think they can still get a deal done centered around Malik Monk.

According to reports, the Kings are optimistic that a sign-and-trade involving Monk and Kuminga can still get done, and with a few months before the season starts, there's certainly still time to make it happen. In Monk, the Warriors would land one of the best bench players in the NBA, and in Kuminga, the Kings could land a centerpiece of their future, making this deal seemingly work for both parties.

Unfortunately for Warriors fans, this drama seems never-ending, and with Kuminga yet to even consider the Warriors’ offer, it's unclear where things will go from here, but if Golden State is open to a deal, the Kings remain highly interested.
