Adam Silver Dismisses Fans Concerns Over The Pricing Of NBA Games in 2025/26

Heading into the new NBA season, fans have major concerns about the direction the league is heading, but there's one issue that rises among all else; price. This off-season, the NBA revealed that weekly games will be streaming across many platforms, meaning that for fans in North America, that means buying many streaming services to watch the league.

Obviously, this was not a very popular decision, as fans don't want to be spending $50 or more a month to simply watch big, marquee matchups and likely all of their teams games. That was a concern raised to Commissioner Adam Silver recently, and shockingly, he directly dismissed all of those concerns while also disparaging his own league.

When asked how he expects fans to afford to watch the league, Silver directed them to social media, calling basketball and the NBA a 'highlight sport' in the process. This was an absolutely horrific take from the Commissioner of a sport, as he downplayed the importance of fans actually watching games, all so the league can continue to line their own pockets at the fans expense.

Unsurprisingly, fans were absolutely outraged on social media, with many calling out not only how dismissive Silver was of their concerns, but also how he tore down his own league in the process. It's unclear if anything will come of this backlash, but as of right now, fans are clearly frustrated, and with the basketball at an all-time high in quality, the Commissioner continues to downplay the importance of the sport he leads.
