New York Knicks Set To Bring In Veteran Big Man on Training Camp Deal
Sep 17, 2025
The New York Knicks went further in 2024–25 than they have in over 25 years, and now, the organization feels they are just one or two moves away from becoming genuine NBA Championship threats this season. Over the offseason, they've been busy at work improving their roster, with their two big additions being Jordan Clarkson and Guerschon Yabusele, who both boost this bench moving forward.
They haven't stopped there, however, as the team has been on a mission to add several veterans on non-guaranteed deals for training camp, signing Malcolm Brogdon and Landry Shamet. President Leon Rose isn't done there, however, as the team is now reportedly set to bring in former Lakers big man Alex Len to compete for a spot on the roster ahead of the 2025–26 campaign.
Last season, the 32-year-old played in 46 games between the Los Angeles Lakers and Sacramento Kings, averaging 2 points, 2 boards, and 1 assist per game in 8 minutes of playing time a night. Currently, the Knicks are rolling with the duo of Karl-Anthony Towns and Mitchell Robinson up front, but given the injury history of the latter, it makes sense that the team would look for added insurance on the free agency market.

This deal gives Len the opportunity to compete for a guaranteed spot on the Knicks roster this season, and while it's not the biggest addition for the team, as a depth piece, the Knicks can do much worse than Len.
