NBA Offseason Pickup Game Footage Shows Two Warriors Players Going At Each Other

The Golden State Warriors are bringing back the same squad next season. Regardless of who they end up getting in free agency, the Warriors' roster is likely to look almost identical to the team that was eliminated in the second round of the playoffs last year.

For one, this means that the Warriors are going to need to rely on the continuous geling of Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler. They are also going to need to see some of their younger players take their game to another level.

One of the prime candidates for this improvement is Moses Moody. Moody has shown continuous improvement on both ends of the floor in each of his first four NBA seasons. He was having a breakout year for the Warriors last season before hurting his shoulder and seeing his shooting percentages tank.

Moody, however, is maybe even more important on the defensive end for the Warriors. If he can guard the 1-4 positions on the opposing team, the Warriors' defense will be a lot more versatile.

A recent video from an NBA offseason pickup game shows Moody doing exactly this. Instead of going head-to-head against an opposing team’s power forward, he is battling Draymond Green.

In the video, Draymond twice tries to post up Moody, failing both times. On the first, he calls a questionable foul, and in the second, he has no chance of even hitting the rim.

Sure, Draymond might not be the best offensive player to match your defense against. Still, the fact that Moody is holding his own against a body like Draymond bodes well for his future as an undersized wing or even big man in Steve Kerr’s system.
