Ben Simmons is Reportedly Weighing Up His Future in Basketball

Ben Simmons has become one of the most polarizing players in the NBA in recent years, with the former No. 1 overall pick going through some major ups-and-downs. After starting his career well in Philadelphia, some had dubbed him the next face of the NBA, but after one fateful play in the post-season, his career completely flipped.

Since that point, Simmons has struggled to stay on the floor in his time with Brooklyn and the Clippers, but given his talent and versatility, he's always been given the opportunity. Now, this off-season, he's been waiting to land in the perfect situation, and while there's been reported interest from the Knicks, there's now another viable option.

According to Stefan Bondy of the New York Post, there's also the chance that Simmons retires from the game, as he has begun weighing up his future in the NBA.

“Ben Simmons has generated interest from the Knicks and another team but is also questioning whether he even wants to continue playing in the NBA next season, The Post has learned.”

This would have been a major shock if Simmons was still the player we saw in Philadelphia, but it's been clear for quite some time that basketball isn't the Australian's only love.

From the player he was in Philly to now, it's hard to believe just how far Simmons has fallen, and while he's still got opportunities in the NBA, as of right now, there's just as good a chance that he calls it quits on his career.
